Lunch at the Christmas Markets

Today my workmates suggested that we have lunch at the Christmas markets, cause they are awesome like that and they know how excited I’ve been about the markets.

Lunch was probably the most unhealthiest lunch I’ve ever had. We had (and I apologise now for misspelling the German names) fleischspeise (meat on a stick) which came with a bread roll, glühwein (hot mulled wine) and schmalzkuchen (tiny donuts with powdered sugar).  We ate this whilst standing in front of an open fire as it snowed.  It was perfect.

Mmmm…one of my Christmas market faves is the kartoffelpuffer, and not only because it’s fun to say! Potato pancakes with apple sauce. Love. :-)
