The Icy Elbe

On Sundays, many Germans head outside in all types of weather to go for a walk with their family and friends.  My friend Amber and I decided to join them for a stroll along the icy shores of the Elbe.  This was the first time I have been along the Elbe and it was just gorgeous.

Although it was extremely icy, it was nice to get out of the house for a couple of hours and go walking.  Also, it was lovely talking to someone from my home country of Australia.  Someone who understands the cultural references and can talk about how much we miss BBQ Shapes and Twisties and Julia Gillard’s bogan accent.

More photos of our walk along the Elbe can be found here.

Gorgeous photos! If it has to be this cold, I guess we’re lucky that Hamburg is still beautiful in the Winter. :)
