A Tiny Taste Of Spring

Garden with some tulips and narcissus

We had a tiny taste of spring in Hamburg today.  There was sunshine, patches of blue sky and most importantly, it was above freezing, in fact it was 7C!  After enduring -9C during the week, 7C was like a heatwave.

After coming home from seeing The King’s Speech (if you haven’t seen it, you must!), I threw open the balcony door and blasted music whilst I constructed what is hopefully my last piece of Ikea furniture for long time.  It was the perfect afternoon.

I’m getting really sick of every time I go out having to put on a beanie (woollen hat for you non-Aussies), a scarf, gloves and thick winter coat.  I’m sick of it taking about 5 minutes to get all this stuff on and then still being cold.  Whilst I have enjoyed my first Northern Hemisphere winter and found things about it I love (snow!) and things I hate (ice!), I am well and truly ready for spring. Bring it on!
